Real-Time Verification Proven Effective in Development of Trusted Contractor Community
In response to post 9/11 security challenges, Real-Time Technology Group (RTTG) co-founded and actively led the establishment of the Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC), a unique personnel assurance program. SWAC assures that contracted workers who access sensitive worksites in the NY metropolitan area such as the World Trade Center complex, NY/NJ airports, rail and bus terminals, bridges and other transportation facilities are known and considered threat-free. These sites include some of the highest value terrorist targets in our nation.
RTV™ interoperable technology provides the platform that drives SWAC for more than 1800 public and private consortium members. Transportation agencies such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New Jersey Transit, Metropolitan Transit Authority, and others now strategically partner with regional labor organizations and contractors to mitigate risk, develop a trusted community, and cooperatively improve regional security.
This unique collaboration eliminates the high cost of duplicative efforts and supports the directives and guidelines put forth by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration's List of Disqualifying Criminal Offenses as detailed in 49 CFR 1542.209 and 49 CFR 1572.103.
A Trusted Solution
RTV collects, processes, and securely manages SWAC members' sensitive personal information to help secure the NY/NJ metro area's critical infrastructures. RTV delivers the secure, private interoperability and trustworthiness required by the federal government. As the technical backbone of SWAC, RTV provides regional facility owners and their labor partners with secure real-time personal identity verification (PIV), credential management, and strictly controlled need-to-know data-sharing capabilities. All data is encrypted and protected from unauthorized viewing at every point of information collection, processing, and storage. Permission-based access to personal information is strictly limited to security professionals and selectively presented as required to meet the unique personal identity verification requirements at each participating facility.
First developed in 2003, the latest generation of Real-Time Verification, RTV continues to empower SWAC with advanced technology in support of this rapidly-growing, trusted contractor community that stands ready to safely service the region's sensitive facilities and critical infrastructure.
